Tango Gay Experience

Tango at Buenos Aires
Tango is a music genre from Argentina. It’s associated with a dance form and a whole culture.
Early tango was known as tango criollo. Today, there are many tango dance styles, including Argentine Tango, Uruguayan Tango, Ballroom tango (in performing shows), Finnish tango and vintage tangos. What many consider to be the authentic tango is that closest to that originally danced in Argentina.
Tango originated in lower-class districts of Buenos Aires around eighteen century. The music derived from the fusion of various forms of music from Europe . The word Tango seems to have first been used in connection with the dance in the 1890s. Initially it was just one of the many dances, but it soon became popular throughout society, as theatres and street barrel organs spread it from the suburbs to the working-class slums, which were packed with hundreds of thousands of European immigrants, primarily Italians, Spanish and French.
Tango is quite a sensual dance, bodies are permanently in touch. Recently, a gay Tango is being developed at Buenos Aires. Gay milongas (places where dance Tango) are spread all over Buenos Aires.
If you dare to try this dance, BAGayTravel, a gay travel agency at Buenos Aires, offers a nice package around this experience. It includes 6 nights accommodation, tango show, city and museums tour & gay nightlife tour. Don’t miss the Buenos Aires Gay Tango Experience!
Argentina gay nightlife
by argentina gay on Jun.04, 2009, under Argentina Gay Clubs
Argentina’s gay nightlife is well known as “huge”. The capital city, Buenos Aires, has around 15 gay clubs, discos and pubs for you to enjoy. There are gay dance clubs in the main cities accross the countries as well: La Plata, Córdoba, Rosario and many others.
Let’s see 5 examples:
- Glam, a well stablished gay club in Palermo neighborhood -Buenos Aires. A place usually recommended for tourists. Average is 30’s.
- Bahrein, hosts gay parties in a relaxed way, as it is not part of the original gay circuit. This gay disco is at the Buenos Aires’ Microcentro (town center), very close to the hotels’ area.
- Verona, a gay club only for women. A very funny experience. Located at Buenos Aires center, very close to the Obelisco.
- Juana, a fun gay pub and club at La Plata, 50km from Buenos Aires. Young guys and good music.
- Gotika, very nice place in Rosario, 400km from Buenos Aires. Young people. Not as relaxed as Buenos Aires. The local scene is less opened than Buenos Aires.
These are just the first recommendations. We will talk of each one (not just these but all of the gay clubs and discos) and tell you what you can expect and where to go if your time runs out.
Buenos Aires has saunas and darkrooms to offer as well.
